Wendy Beveridge, Lauren Troutman and Megan Stahlman Named To UAVSL South All-Conference Team (10/25/18)
(By Coach Chris Schonbachler)
Selections were made on Sunday October 21st for the 2018 Girls UAVSL South Soccer All-Conference team. The Clarion Area Lady Cat soccer team matched an All-Time record with 3 selections to this year’s squad.
Senior Wendy Beveridge, daughter of Tony and Barb Beveridge, was second overall in votes with the 6 goals, superb goalkeeping, and overall offensive prowess this season. Beveridge has been a selection the past 2 years as a full time goalkeeper, this year she spent a majority of the season as a forward.
Lauren Troutman, daughter of Greg and Luneda Troutman, earned her first selection this season. Lauren finished the season with 4 goals, including a hat trick in the final game at Punxsutawney. Her goal total may be less than others, but a majority of the Ladycat goals this season began with Lauren’s efforts in the midfield.
The third selection for Clarion is Megan Stahlman. Megan is the daughter of Babette Stahlman, she is a Clarion-Limestone student that plays with Clarion thanks to the school’s cooperative agreement. Megan is a true offensive threat, but when asked to help the team defensively this season, she did just that. Her job got tougher when fellow back Jenna Miller sustained a season ending ankle injury. Megan asked for the extra defensive responsibility and delivered on it, she also scored 1 goal this season.
Congratulations to these 2018 All-Conference Team selections, league MVP Hunter Dittman of Karns City, and all of those that were chosen this year. The entire 2018 team is as follows :
