Five Bobcats Named PAVBCA District All-Stars, Campbell MVP (11/15/2018)
(By CSZ Sports Writer Kenn Staub) Five Bobcat volleyball players were recently named District 9 All-Stars by the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association (PAVBCA).
The Clarion contingent was led by sophomore setter Brenna Campbell, who earned recognition as the district’s Class A MVP. Campbell was awarded second team honors from the PAVBCA last season and was recently named to the 2018 KSAC All-Conference first team.
Freshman Korrin Burns, an outside hitter, and junior Maddie Schill, a middle hitter, were both named to the PAVBCA first team. This is the first district-wide recognition for Burns and Schill, who were each named 2018 KSAC All-Conference second teamers.
Libero/outside hitter Kyara Girvan and outside/rightside hitter Kaitlyn Constantino were honored by the PAVBCA as second team district all-stars. Earlier Girvan was named to the 2018 KSAC All-Conference first team, with Constantino garnering a spot on the all-conference second team. This is the junior duo’s first district-level recognition.
The Bobcat volleyball team captured the Class A District 9 title and posted a 16-3 record in 2018.
