Clarion Area’s Kaitlyn Constantino and her Tri-County Thunder teammates finished second in the Summerfest (18 and Under) Fastpitch State Championship, at Cannonsburg, held Saturday and Sunday, June 8th and 9th.

The Thunder went undefeated in pool play, on Saturday, going 3-0.

On Sunday, the Thunder downed Nitro 3-2, in the quarterfinals. They faced the Renegades, from Pittsburgh, in the semifinals and came away with a 12-2 win. They faced the Cannonsburg Lady Knights in the Championship game, falling 13-8, in nine innings. The Lady Knights players hail from Washington and Greene Counties.

The Championship game had to seem like deja vu for Kaitlyn. Five Lady Knights were players from the West Greene Pioneers, which the Clarion Area Lady Cats played in the PIAA quarterfinals, on Friday.

The Thunder, coached by Ed Winger from Franklin and Greg Houk from Titusville, will play in a tournament in Morgantown, West Virginia, this Friday-Sunday, June 14th to 16th.

(Way to go, Thunder!!!!)
