The Clarion Little League 12-U All-Stars won the 2019 District 25 Championship on Tuesday, July 2nd at Paul A. Weaver Park. Manager Lee Weber shares this account:

We won 12-1. Lucas Mitrosky started the game on the mound and pitched 2-plus strong innings for us, by giving up only 1 run on 1 hit and while striking out five!  Jimmy Kerr also gave up only 1 hit, yielding no runs, and striking out three in three innings of work.  They both didn’t have their best control but both had good stuff and shut them down until our offense got going.

Also, we  have been playing stellar defense, holding four teams/games to a total of only five runs!

In the top of the second, Aiden Coulson, Nathan Frederick, Braylon Beckwith, and Brady Pierce all had singles to help us get the first two runs across.  Then in the fourth, after Kerr got on by error, Riley Rinker had a great 10 pitch at bat and earned a walk to put two men on.  Wyatt Watterson followed with single for an RBI and so did Pierce.  Hayden Weber walked to load the bases. Then Matt Alston got hit to bring in the 3rd run of the inning to make it 5-1, Clarion.

In the 5th, after two outs, we exploded for 7 runs to put the game away!  Watterson started things with a double deep to centerfield and Jayden Siwiecki followed with a walk.  Pierce got his third hit and second RBI, with a single over second base and Jesse Siwicki followed with a walk. Weber hit a soft liner over shortstop that scored two more runs and Matt Alston hit a shot that glazed the pitcher’s cheek!

Coulson and Kerr also added two RBIs each with hits of their own to end the scoring at 12-1 and made us Little League 12-U District 25 Champs!

We will advance on to the Sectional Tournament, July 13th-17th at Brockway, with teams like Meadville, Harbor Creek, St. Marys, and DuBois.  We will be undersized and underdogs but this team does not play afraid!

(CONGRATULATIONS CLARION LITTLE LEAGUE 12-U DISTRICT 25 CHAMPS FOR 2019!!!!, KEEP IT GOING!!!!)
