Three Lady Cats Named To 2019 TCS/CE Track And Field All-Star Team (07/21/19)

The Tri-County Sunday and Courier Express newspapers from DuBois announced their 2019 Track and Field All-Star Team in the July 21st edition of the TCS and three Clarion Area Lady Cats were named to the squad.

Junior, Laken Lewis led the way, for the Lady Cats, being selected in three events. Laken was named in the pole vault, where she was the District Nine Class-AA Champion and took the bronze medal at the PIAA State Meet. Laken was also selected in the high jump, having finished second in districts and gathered the fifth place medal at states, and the triple jump, where she was the district champion and finished fourteenth at states.

Freshman Evelyn Lerch was selected in the 400 meter dash. Evelyn was the District Nine Class-AA champion in the event and finished thirteenth in the prelims at states.

Phyllicia Hockman running the 800

Phylicia Hockman, a senior, was named in the 800 meter run. She finished second in the event in Class-AA at the District Nine Meet and twelfth at states.

The TCS/CE Girls Track Athlete of the Year was Brooke Quairiere of Brookville. Girls Co-Field Athletes of the Year was Skyler Sherry of Johnsonburg and Taylor Newton of Elk County Catholic.

The TCS/CE Boys Track Athlete of the Year was Ian Thrush of Brookville. Boys Field Athlete of the Year was Adam Park of St. Marys.
