Bobcat Junior High Gridders Fall To DuBois (09/30/19)

(By Coach Todd Matthews)

The Clarion Area Bobcat Ninth Grade Football Team dropped to 2-2 with a 13-0 loss to the visiting DuBois Beavers, at the Clarion-Limestone Field, on Thursday, September, 26th.

DuBois held Clarion to 138 yards of total offense, 39 yards rushing and 99 yards passing.  Tommy Smith went 6 completions on 12 attempts with his top receivers being Conner Kopnitsky with 2 catches for 44 yards and Ryan Hummell, who had 1catch for 30 yards.

On Defense Dawson Hotchkiss and Tommy Smith led with 5 tackles each.  Conner Kopnitsky, Tommy Smith, Noah Naser, Dauntae Girvan and Holden Sparks all had a sack.

This is the second time this season that The Bobcats lost to Dubois (the first was 28-19).  Our team played hard! We went into halftime 0-0. DuBois is a very good team, they are big and wore us down!

The Bobcats travel to Moniteau on Thursday, October 3rd. Kickoff is set for 6:00 PM.

(Thanks to Coach Matthews for this article and to Rod Hotchkiss for providing stats. Keep up the good work, Cats!!!!)
