McKayla Kerle Finishes Second At District Golf Championship, Qualifies For Regionals (09/30/19)

Clarion Area Lady Cat golfer, McKayla Kerle, shot a 95, in the District Nine Class-AA Championship, on Monday, September 30th at Pinecrest Country Club. With her great round, the Clarion freshman qualified for the PIAA West Regionals, which will be held at Tom’s Run Resort in Blairsville, on Tuesday, October 15th.

McKayla qualified along with two other District Nine Class-AA golfers, Punxsutawney’s Brianna Hoover, who shot an 89 to win the championship and Clearfield’s Christina McGinnis who recorded a 100 to finish third.

Punxsutawney won the team event with a 306. Clearfield was second with a 338 and Moniteau finished third with a 340.

Bradford won the Class-AAA championship, led by Elyse Godding who won the individual title, with an 80.

Six other Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference golfers joined McKayla in the competition, including Moniteau’s Kendall Grossman (104), Haley Pry (111) and Brynn Barger (125), Cranberry’s Andrea Ziegler (116) and Keystone’s Ally Rogers (136) and Becca Lander (177).
