Bobcat Junior High Gridders Move To 2-1 With Win Over Keystone (09/19/19)

(By Coach Todd Matthews)

The Clarion Bobcat Junior High Football Team moved their record to 2-1, after a 27-0 win over the homestanding Keystone Panthers.

The Bobcat defense took an early advantage on a bad snap when Keystone punted resulting in a safety. On the following free kick Dawson Hotchkiss took it 60 yards for a Clarion touchdown. The two-point conversion failed and it was 8-0.  Tommy Smith was the next to score with a 6 yard run to make it 14-0. The two-point conversion failed again.

In the second half, Conner Kopnitsky had a 55 yard touchdown run to make it 20-0. Dauntae Girvan kicked the PAT to make it 21-0.

The Bobcats were able to get the young guys in for the entire 4th quarter.  7th grade quarterback Jase Ferguson hooked up with Tanner Miller for a 10 yard touchdown pass to make it 27-0.

I was really happy with the way our team played and getting the younger kids some great experience on the field.  Dawson Smail led the defense with tackles. Ethan Wenner had a fumble recovery and Jase Ferguson had an interception.

The Bobcats host DuBois next Thursday (September 26th), at Clarion-Limestone Stadium.

(Thanks to Coach Matthews for this article. Nice Job, Bobcats!!!!)
