Lady Cats Compete In Wilson Tournament In Reading (09/10/19)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats Volleyball Team competed in the Wilson High School Tournament in Reading this past Saturday (September 8th).

The tournament featured some quality competition. Among the schools Clarion faced was Allentown Central Catholic, the 2016 and 2107 PIAA State AAA Champions and 2018 Runners-up.

Most of the the Lady Cats games were close.

They opened against ACC, dropping games 16-25 and 22-25. Then they went 1-1 with Cumberland Valley, winning the first game 25-23 and falling in the second 22-25.

The third match-up was with Bishop Shanahan. The Lady Cats fell in both 23-25 and 19-25. Their last opponent was Archbishop Carroll. The Lady Cats and Lady Patriots split this one, 1 game apiece. The Lady Cats dropped the first game 20-25 and came back to win the second game 22-25.

Brenna Campbell had 52 assists, 11 digs and two aces. Kait Constantino served 5 aces, had 12 kills and twenty-two digs. Korrin Burns had 26 digs, 3 kills, an ace and an assist.

K.K. Girvan had 26 digs, an ace and a pair of assists. Maddie Schill had 5 kills, 9 digs and three aces. Aryana Girvan had 9 kills and five digs. Jordan Best had 2 aces and 5 digs. Payton Simko had four kills.

The Lady Cats are playing at Karns City tonight (Tuesday, September 10th) and will host North Clarion on Thursday (September 12th).
