Ben Smith Offensive Lineman Of The Year, Austin Newcomb Co-MVP, Number Of Bobcats Named D9 League 2019 Large School All-Stars (11/06/19)
The District Nine League has announced their 2019 Football All-Stars and the Clarion Area Bobcats are well represented on the Large School Division Team.
Two Bobcats received top honors. Ben Smith was named Offensive Lineman of the Year and Austin Newcomb was tabbed Co-MVP, along with Jake Alcorn of Kane.
Smith was named as an Offensive Lineman and Newcomb was named at Running Back/Slot.
Mitch Knepp who was named on both sides of the ball as an Offensive Lineman and as a Defensive Lineman/End. Cal German was named at Quarterback, Ethan Burford was named at Wide Receiver/Slot and Cutter Boggess was selected as a Linebacker.
The other top award winners for the Large School Division were: Ridgway’s Gabe Watts – Defensive Lineman of the Year; Brookville’s Nathan Taylor – Defensive MVP; and Ridgway’s Mark Heindl – Coach of the Year.
Top award winners for the Small School South Division include: Keystone’s Kirk Wolbert – Offensive Lineman of the Year; Redbank Valley’s Ethan Hetrick – Defensive Lineman of the Year; Keystone’s Isaak Jones – Offensive MVP; Union/A-C Valley’s Colton Hoffman – Defensive MVP; and Keystone’s Ryan Smith – Coach of the Year.
Top Award winners for the Small School South Division include: Smethport’s Kameron Rounsville – Smethport; and from Coudersport: Cale Ayers – Offensive Lineman of the Year; Co-Offensive MVPs – Travis Gleason and Hayden Keck; Kolby VanWhy – Defensive MVP; and Tom Storey – Coach of the Year.
