Girls Basketball: Kait Constantino Scores 1,000th Career Point In Lady Cats Victory Over Forest Area, Team Follows With Win Over Venango Catholic (01/11/20)

Clarion Area senior Kait Constantino scored the 1,000th point of her career, in the Lady Cats 67-28 win over the visiting Forest Area Fires on Thursday (January 9th).

Constantino finished with a game high 22 points in the win.

The Cats led 23-4 after one and 41-8 at the half. With an 8-6 advantage in the third, Clarion took a 49-14 lead into the final stanza, where they had an 18-4 advantage to set the final.

Ava Cherico and Jordan Best also scored in double-figures for Clarion, with twelve points each.

Payton Simko had 8 points, Eva Lerch had 7 points, Rebekah Ketner score 4 points, and Noel Anthony and Jenna Mill had two points each.

Jessica Wagner led the Fires with six points.

The Lady Cats followed up on that win with a 59-14 victory over the homestanding Venango Catholic Lady Vikings, on Friday (January 10th).

Constantino led the Lady Cats again, with 18 points, followed closely by Best with sixteen.

The Lady Cats led 14-6 after one and 30-8 at the half. A 15-6 Clarion edge in the third gave them a 45-14 lead heading to the fourth, where the Cats scored fourteen unanswered points.

Others contributing to the Lady Cats scoring were: Payton Simko with 9 points, Eva Lerch with 6, Noel Anthony and Ava Cherico with 4 each, and Jenna Miller with two.

Emma Ekas led the Lady Vikes with eight points.

The Lady Cats, now 7-4 (3-2 KSAC Large School Division) will host Clarion-Limestone on Monday (January 13th).
