Bobcat Boys Basketball Team Advances To District Nine Class-AA Championship Game With Win Over Keystone (02/26/20)

The Clarion Area Boys Basketball Team downed Keystone 54-50 in a District Nine Class-AA semifinal game, at Redbank Valley High School, on Tuesday (February 26th).

With the win, the Bobcats secure their spot in the championship game, on Saturday (February 29th) at Tippin Gymnasium, against the Ridgway Elkers. This will be the Bobcats first title game appearance since 2003.

The Panthers led by six, 17-11 after one, but with a 17-10 Bobcat advantage in the second, Clarion led 28-27 at halftime. Clarion outscored Keystone 12-9 in the third, to carry a four point, 40-36 lead heading to the final stanza. Each team scored fourteen in the fourth, to set the final.

Three Bobcats hit for double-figures, Nick Frederick with 15, Josh Craig with 14 and Cal German with thirteen. Craig hit four 3-pointers, while Frederick and German each had one trey.

Skylar Rhoades, Beau Verdill and Hunter Craddock added 6, 4 and two points respectively.
