Lady Cats Fall To Redbank Valley In D9 Basketball Semifinal, Will Play Ridgway At DuBois On Friday, In Consolation Game (02/27/20)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats dropped a 63-51 decision to the Redbank Valley Lady Bulldogs, in their District Nine 2A semifinal at Brookville, on Wednesday (February 26th).

The Lady Cats held an 11-10 lead after one and a 25-20 lead at halftime. A 17-12 Redbank advantage, in the third, the game was knotted at 37-all heading to the final stanza. A 26-14 Bulldog edge in the fourth set the final.

KK Girvan had a big night for the Cats, with 23 points, including 3 three-pointers. Kait Constantino scored 12 points, including a trey.

Jordan Best had 7 points and Payton Simko followed with six. Rebekah Ketner and Eva Lerch had two points each and Noel Anthony had one point.

Alivia Huffman led Redbank Valley with 18 points, Tara Hinderliter had 14 and Madison Foringer scored thirteen.

The Lady Cats will face Ridgway, in the consolation game at DuBois, at 7:00P.M. Friday (February 28th), with the winner advancing to the PIAA State Playoffs. The Class 2A girls’ consolation game between Ridgway and Clarion will be at 7 p.m. Friday at DuBois High School.

The Bobcat Boys will face Ridgway, for the District Nine 2A Title, at 5:00P.M., at Tippin Gymnasium, on Saturday (February 29th).
