Bobcat Grapplers Win 3-of-4 Contested Bouts, But Fall To Redbank Valley (02/14/20)

The Clarion Area Wrestlers hosted Redbank Valley, on Thursday (February 13th). The Cats won three of the four contested bouts, but fell 66-16 due to forfeits.

The Bobcats had two pins and a major decision, for their on-mat wins.

The match started at 145, where Clarion’s Caleb Edmonds won with a fall at 5:26 over Snyder Gage, giving the Cats a 6-0 lead. The Bulldogs’ Ethan Wiant pinned Peyton Means at 5:32 of the 152 match, to knot the score at 6-all.

At 160, Cutter Boggess defeated Redbank Valley’s Noah Anderson in an 8-0 major decision, giving Clarion a 10-6 lead. In the last contested match of the evening, at 170, Clarion’s Donavan Edmonds pinned Colton Bartley in 4:43.

Redbank Valley received ten straight forfeit wins, at 182,195, 220, 285, 106, 113, 120, 126, 132 and 138, to come away with the win.

The Bobcats will compete in the District Nine Class-AA Tournament, next Friday and Saturday (February 21st and 22nd) at Clearfield High School.
