Bobcat Wrestlers Fall To Ridgway (02/06/20)

The Clarion Area Bobcat Wrestlers fell to the visiting Ridgway Elkers 30-21 on Thursday (February 6th).

Ridgway opened with a forfeit win by Gary Emerick at 138. The Cats dropped decisions at 145 and 152, with Breckin Rex falling 7-2 to Armandt Rosario and Payton Means falling 8-1 to Jacob Wickett, giving Ridgway an 12-0 lead.

The Cats cut the Elker lead in half at 12-9, with a 7-0 win by Cutter Boggess over Hunter Wall at 160, followed by a forfeit win by Donavan Edmonds at 170.

The teams traded forfeit wins, with Ridgway’s Valdemar Kranz winning at 182 and Clarion’s Logan Edmonds win coming at 195, to move the score to 18-15 Ridgway. There was no match at 220. Elker Jacob Kunselman had a forfeit win at 285, to move Ridgway’s lead to 24-15.

There were no matches at 106 and 113. Clarion’s Zack Keihl won by forfeit at 120, closing Clarion’s gap to 24-21. There was no match at 126. Ridgway closed the night with a forfeit win by Tyler Merritt at 132, to set the 30-21 final.

The Bobcats will compete in the Garret Scott Invitational, at Juniata Valley High School, this Saturday (February 8th). They will host Redbank Valley, next Thursday (February 13th).
