Boys Basketball: Bobcats Down Gremlins (02/13/20)

The Clarion Bobcats downed homestanding Karns City 55-47, on Thursday (February 12th), behind Cal German’s game-high twenty-three points.

The Cats outscored the Gremlins 12-11 in the first period. but with a 20-14 Gremlin edge in the second, Karns City led 31-26 at the half.

The Bobcats had a 16-11 advantage in the third period, to send the teams to the fourth quarter, with the score knotted at 42-all. Clarion outscored KC 13-5 in the frame, to seal the 55-47 victory.

Nick Frederick also scored in double-figures for the Bobcats, with fourteen. Skylar Rhoads had 9, Hunter Craddock scored four points, and Josh Craig and Beau Verdill chipped in with 3 points and two points respectively.

Ethan McElroy had 15 points and Chase Beighley had twelve for Karns City.

The Bobcats (14-8 overall and 7-3 KSAC South) and Karns City (13-8, 7-3), will face each other in a District Nine AA Quarterfinal game.
