Brock Champluvier Wins Championship, Kaden Ferguson, Third And Josh Beal Fourth For Bobcats At Area V Junior High – Junior Olympics Tournament (02/17/20)

The Clarion Area Bobcats competed in the Area V Junior High – Junior Olympics Tournament on Sunday, February 16th, with three wrestlers placing.

Brock Champluvier won the Championship at 250, after going 3-0, with three first period pins. Bobcat Coach Lee Weber said, “(Brock) totally dominated every second of every match!”

Taking home the second place medal at 82. Coach Weber stated that “(Kaden) wrestled aggressively and lost only by decisions against much more experienced wrestlers”

Coming away with a fourth place at 210, was Josh Beal. Josh went 3-2, with all of his wins coming by way of fall.

Brock and Kaden qualified for the State Tournament, which will be held at the Cambria County War Memorial, in Johnstown, Thursday, February 28th through Saturday, March 1st. Josh could possibly qualify as an alternate.

Coach Weber said “Others that wrestled and competed well in defeat were Ethan Lloyd, Seth Weckerly, Ryan Altman, Jake Smith, Holden Sparks, Colby Wright and Doug Fox.  Gavin Hannold and Logan Powell had to withdraw due to injuries.”
