Clarion Splits Boys/Girls Basketball Doubleheader At Redbank Valley (02/01/20)

The Clarion Area Boys and Girls Basketball Teams traveled to Redbank Valley on Friday (January 31st) for a Boys/Girls doubleheader. The Bobcat Boys won their game 58-42, while the Lady Cats fell 69-65, in overtime.

Boys Game

Cal German led the Bobcats to the win, with 27 points. Two other Cats also scored in double-figures, Hunter Craddock with 13 and Nick Frederick with ten. Skylar Rhoades scored 7 points and Josh Craig finished with one point.

Redbank led 13-11 after one and 28-21 at the half. But, with a 15-4 Clarion edge in the third, the Cats led 36-32 headed to the final stanza. Clarion’s 22-10 advantage in the fourth set the final.

Chris Marshall led the Bulldogs with 20 points, while Koltin Kline chipped in with thirteen.

The Bobcats will host Cranberry next Wednesday (February 5th) and will visit Karns City on Friday (February 7th).

Girls Game

Kait Constantino led the Lady Cats with 25 points, converting 20 free throws, with KK Girvan adding eighteen. KK sank 2 three-pointers and Kate had one trey. Eva Lerch had 6 points, Rebekah Ketner scored 5 points, Payton Simko and Jordan Best had 4 apiece and Noel Anthony finished with three points.

The Lady Cats led 38-34 at the half and 49-44 after three.

Tara Hinderliter led the Lady Bulldogs with a game high forty points.

The Lady Cats will travel to Cranberry next Tuesday (February 4th) and host Karns City on Friday (February 7th).
