Clarion Comets Place Second In Redbank Valley Tournament To Qualify For States (02/03/20)

The Clarion Comets Boys Basketball Team is headed to the State Basketball Tournament in State College in March, after their performance in the Sixth Grade Tournament at Redbank Valley.

The Comets finished in second place at Redbank Valley, to qualify for States. They were part of a four team field, that also included teams from Redbank Valley, Karns City and Union.

Round 1 saw the Comets beat Karns City and Redbank Valley down Union. Redbank Valley defeated the Comets in Round 2.

Union downed Karns City in the First Round in the Losers Bracket, to move on to face the Comets in the next Round. The Comets came out on top, in that game to advance to the Championship Game against Redbank Valley.

Redbank Valley won the hard fought, back and forth Championship Game, and will also move on to States.

Members of the Comets are Gabe Anderson, Brendan Bettwy, Mason Burford, Kylan Clark, Nathan Frederick, Quinn O’Neill, Jacob Plowman, Haden Weber and Jonas Wilshire. Dan Clark is the Coach.
