Bobcat Boys, Lady Cats Place Three Players Each On 2019-20 All-TCS/CE Basketball All-Star Teams (03/22/20)

The Tri-County Sunday and Courier Express newspapers announced their 2019-20 Basketball All-Stars, in the March 22nd edition of the Tri-County Sunday and Clarion Area was well represented with six players named.

The Bobcat Boys and Lady Cats each had one player named to the First Team and two named as Honorable Mentions.

Named to the Boys’ First Team was junior Cal German, with Kait Constantino, also a senior, being named to the Girls’ First Team. Cal and Kait both passed the 1,000 point milestone this season.

Cal scored 518 points this season, third most in District Nine, for a 21.6 points per game average. Kait scored 520 points, good for second place in District Nine, for a 20.0 points per game average. Kait was a Second Team selection her junior year.

Bobcat Boys named Honorable Mention were senior Nick Frederick and junior Hunter Craddock. Honorable Mention selections for the Lady Cats were senior KK Girvan and sophomore Jordan Best.

The Bobcat Boys were District Nine Class-AA runners-up and made it to the second round of the PIAA State Playoffs. The Lady Cats finished third in District Nine Class-AA and participated in the PIAA State Playoffs.

Neighboring schools were also well represented.

The Redbank Valley Lady Bulldogs had both the Player of the Year, in Tara Hinderliter and Coach of the Year, in Chris Edmonds. Making Honorable Mention for the Redbank Valley Girls were Alivia Huffman and Lauren Smith. Also named Honorable Mention was Clarion-Limestone’s Frances Milliron.

The Clarion-Limestone Boys had three players named. Hayden Callen was selected to the First Team, Deion Deas was named to the Second Team and Curvin Goheen was an Honorable Mention. For the Redbank Valley Boys, Bryson Bain and Chris Marshall were named Honorable Mention.

The DuBois Beavers captured the two top Boys’ awards. Chase Husted was named Player of the Year and Dave Bennett garnered the Coach of the Year award.

The schools represented on the Girls’ Squad were: Clarion, Brockway, Brookville, Clarion-Limestone, Curwensville, DuBois, DuBois Central Catholic, Elk County Catholic, Redbank Valley, Ridgway and St. Marys.

The schools represented on the Boys’ Squad were: Clarion, Brockway, Brookville, Clarion-Limestone, Curwensville, DuBois, Elk County Catholic, Johnsonburg, Redbank Valley, Ridgway and St. Marys.
