Leap OF Faith Has Fine Showing At Fun In The Sun Meet (03/30/20)

Leap of Faith Gymnastics of Clarion competed in the Fun in the Sun Meet, on Saturday, March 7th, at Butler Community College.

Jorja Parkinson, age 10, placed first in Vault (9.525), first on Beam (9.55), first on Floor Exercise (9.50), for a first place All Around finish of 38.025, for the Silver Team.

Rounding out the Silver Team for first place finishes was Jadyn Truax, 11 years old, with a first place on Floor (9.20).

The Silver Team placed 4th with a team score of 111.825.

The Bronze Team also had multiple first places winners, including Skyler Harriger, age 7, winning Bars (9.50), Floor (8.80) and an All-Around first place of (36.70). Ten year old Joni Reinhart won floor with a 9.30 and Irelyn Simpson, age 7, placed first on beam with a 9.20.

The Bronze Team placed 4th with a combined team score of 110.975.

Handstand Contest winners, who each won a trophy for holding their handstands the longest, were Jorja Parkinson, Madison Reed, Brylie Glenn, Irelyn Simpson and Skyler Harriger.

Leap of Faith also won the Spirit Award. Due to COVID19, the remainder of the 2019-2020 USAG Season has been cancelled, and although Leap of Faith is disappointed that the Silver Team is unable to compete at the State Competition, the gymnastics club looks forward to reopening soon and is currently hosting Virtual Classes and Weekly Challenges.
