C-L Lions Boys Soccer Wins Two in a Row! (Posted 10/08/20)

The Clarion-Limestone Boys Soccer Team traveled to DuBois Central Catholic on Monday, October 5th.

The first goal was from Beau Verdill with Bailee Verdill getting credit for the assist. Nate Megning scored the second goal, with Tyler Bingham getting the assist.

Beau Verdill scored the third goal. The Lions scored right before halftime when Nate Megnin was able to get the ball to Beau Verdill.

DCC scored their one and only goal in the second half of the game, setting the final at C-L 4 – DCC 1.

The boys met up with homestanding Rebank Valley, for the second time this season, on Tuesday, October 6th.

Beau Verdill had an unassisted first goal of the game. He also had the second goal of the game from a Penalty Shot that floated into the net right above the goalie’s reach, to make the score 2-0 right before the half.

Redbank Valley was first to score in the second half.  C-L’s next goal occurred  when Bailee Verdill placed the ball perfectly from a corner kick for Beau Verdill to get his head on it to make the score 3-1.

The Bulldogs were able to score from a penalty kick. They had another quick goal after that.

The final goal of the game came when Beau Verdill was in the right spot to get the rebound from a blocked rocket that Ryker Bingham shot and was blocked by the Redbank Valley goalie.

The final score in this very energetic and exciting game was C-L 4 Redbank Valley 3.

The Lions next game will be at Brookville on Thursday, October 15th.
