Lady Cats’ McKayla Kerle Claims Last 2020 KSAC Girls Golf Match Win, Also Season Medalist (Posted 10/02/20)

Clarion Area’s McKayla Kerle earned medalist honors in the Last KSAC Girls’Golf  Match of 2020, on Wednesday (September 30th), at Hi-Level Golf Course. McKayla shot a 42 on the day, finishing four strokes ahead of Moniteau’s Emma Covert who recorded a 46. Keystone’s Ally Rogers was third, registering a 48.

Rounding out the Top 5 were Moniteau’s Katie Fallen in third, at 49; and fellow Lady Warriors Brynn Barger and Kendall Sankey who tied at 50.

Moniteau won the event with a 145. Keystone was second at 152 and Cranberry finished third at 175.

Clarion Area’s Emily Troese and Delaney McNamara also both played. Emily shot a 62 and Delaney carded a 59. The Clarion Girls are rostered on the Boys Team and do not compete for Girls team standings.

McKayla has earned a spot in the District Nine Class-AA Girls’ Championship, at the Punxsutawney Country Cub on Monday (October 5th). The top three Class-AA finishers, provided their scores are under 100, will advance to States.

The Girls State Tournament will be held at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York York and will be played on Tuesday, October 19th.

McKayla played in four KSAC Girls Matches matches this year and was the medalist in each. Her other matches were included: August 31st, at Hi-Level where she carded a 40; September 9th, where she shot a 43 and September 22nd where she finished with a 39.
