Volleyball: Lady Cats Volleyball Team Downs Karns City (Posted 10/02/20)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats downed the visiting Karns City Lady Gremlins in KSAC Volleyball action on Thursday (October 1 st), in straight sets (25-14, 25-3, 25-21).

A number of Lady Cats had big matches.

Ava Kiser scored 10 points (3 aces) and had two digs. Brenna Campbell had 18 points (6 aces), 17 assists, 4 digs and a kill. Korrin Burns scored 8 points (2 aces), to go along with 5 kills and six digs. Payton Simko had 6 points (3 aces) and three kills.

Jordan Best registered 7 points (1 ace), 5 digs and an assist. Aryana Girvan scored 4 points (1 ace), and had 8 kills and a dig. Erica Selfridge had 6 kills, and a dig and scored one point.

Adia Needham had two kills. Grace Ochs had a dig and Noel Anthony had an assist.

The Clarion Junior Varsity was also victorious in straight sets (25-10, 25-12).

Gia Babington and Brianna Pierce had each had a solid match. Gia had 10 points (2 aces), 3 kills and four digs. Brianna scored 9 points (4 aces) and had two digs.

Grace Ochs scored 4 points (2 aces), and had 2 digs and a kill. Taylor Alston dished out 7 assists, scored 4 points (1 ace), had 4 digs and one kill. Paola Lopez scored 3 points (1 ace) and registered a kill.

Bailey Rupert had 2 kills, an ace and a dig. Jordyn Smith scored one point and Lauren Lerch had a dig.

Next week’s schedule has the Lady Cats hosting A-C Valley, on Tuesday (October 6th) in the Dig Pink Breast Cancer fundraiser event and then traveling to Forest Area on Thursday (October 8th).
