Central Clarion’s Beau Verdill Named D9and10Sports District Nine Jim Kelly Special Teams Player of the Year, Ethan Burford and Hunter Craddock Also Named To The Team The All-District 9 Team (Posted 12/07/20)

D9and10Sports.com has announced their Innaugural Jim Kelly Awards and District 9 Team, and the Central Clarion Wildcats are well represented.

Wildcat Kicker/Place Kicker Beau Verdill was selected Special Teams Player of the Year. As Central’s placekicker, Verdill, connected on 21-of-24 extra points and 3 field goals. Fifteen of his kickoffs went for touchbacks. He averaged 35.5 yards per punt, with three pinning the opponent inside their own twenty. Beau was selected as the Placekicker for the All-District 9 Team.

Also making the team for the Wildcat’s were Wide Receiver Ethan Burford and Tight End Hunter Craddock.

Smethport quarterback/defensive back Noah Lent was named the Jim Kelly District 9 Player of the Year.

Redbank Valley came away with three of the top awards Coach Blane Gold was tabbed as Coach of the Year. Defensive End Joe Mansfield was selected as Defensive Lineman of the Year and Volunteer Assistant Ruben Carrillo was named Unsung Hero.

Brookville Quarterback Jack Krug was named Offensive Player of the Year and had the Individual Performance of the Year, in the Class-AA semifinal versus Ridgway.

Karns City garnered three awards. Linebacker Nathan Waltman was named Defensive Player of the Year. Wide Receiver/Defensive Back Micah Rupp was named Rookie of the Year. And the Gremlins shared the Game of the Year with Brookville – the 16-14 Gremlin win in the Class-AA Title Game.

St. Marys Guard Garrett Bauer was selected as Offensive Lineman of the Year.
