Ava Cherico, Erica Selfridge And Payton Simko Lead Lady Cats Over Lady Lions In KSAC Basketball Action

Erica Selfridge and Ava Cherico both hit for double-figures as the Clarion Area Lady Cats downed the visiting Clarion-Limestone Lady Lions 56-26, on Thursday (January 23rd), in KSAC Crossover action. Erica scored 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds, while Ava scored 10 points, including a pair of treys.

Payton Simko had 9 points and ten rebounds, and Jordan Best scored eight points. Noel Anthony registered 7 points, Gia Babington scored 4 and Rebekah Ketner tallied two.

The Lady Cats jumped out to a 15-9 lead after one. A 10-8 Clarion edge in the second had the Cats up 25-17 at the half.

With a 21-7 third quarter advantage, Clarion held a commanding 46-24 lead heading to the final stanza, where a 10-2 Lady Cat edge set the final.

Frances Milliron led the Lady Lions with 10 points, with Sydney Simpson following with eight.

The Lady Cats will travel to Punxsutawney tomorrow (Saturday, January 23rd), with tip-off set for 12:00 Noon. The two teams will meet up again on Monday, at Clarion. Tip-off for that game is at 7:30PM.
