Bobcat Wrestlers Fall To Berries

The Clarion Area Wrestlers dropped a 39-24 decision to homestanding Cranberry, on Friday (January 22nd).

There were six contested matches, with each team winning three. But four forfeit wins by the Berries proved to be the difference.

The Bobcat wins on the mat all came by fall, with Cranberry wrestlers recording a decision and two falls.

Recording falls for the Bobcats were Ashton Rex (145), Breckin Rex (152) and Cutter Boggess (172). Ashton defeated Justin Oliver, in 3:53. Breckin won his match over Jayden Smiley, in thirty-eight seconds. Cutter sealed his win over Kevin Pearsall, in 1:29.

Payton Means lost a close 5-2 decision to Cranberry’s Jacob Kuney at 185. Logan Edmonds lost by fall to Brayden McFetridge at 189, in 1:49 and Josh Beal lost by fall to Seth Yarger in 0:55 at 285.

The Bobcats are scheduled to travel to Curwensville next Thursday (January 28th) and then participate in a Tri-Meet at Franklin, with the Franklin and Greenville, next Saturday (January 30th).
