Lady Cats Fall To Lady Chucks In Non-Conference Basketball Action

The Clarion Area Lady Cats fell to the homestanding Punxsutawney Lady Chucks, 59-33 on Saturday (January 23rd), in non-conference basketball action.

The game was close at halftime, with Clarion down by just five points, 20-15 at halftime. The Lady Cats hung tough in the third, as the Chucks outscored them by two, 15-13, giving Punxy a seven-point lead, 35-28 heading to the final frame. But a 24-5 Lady Chucks edge in the fourth set the final.

Erica Selfridge led the Lady Cats with 10 points, with Jordan Best following with nine.

Danielle Griebel and Sarah Weaver led Punxsutawney with fourteen points each.

The two teams will meet up again on Monday (January 25th), at Clarion. Tip-off for that game is at 7:30PM.
