Basketball: Bobcat Boys Pick Up Two More Wins, Lady Cats Fall To Lady Bulldogs

The Clarion Area Bobcats picked up two more wins, downing the homestanding Moniteau Warriors 82-60, on Wednesday (February 3rd) and the visiting Redbank Valley Bulldogs 82-67 on Friday (February 5th).

Boys: Clarion – Moniteau

Four Bobcats scored in double-figures. Beau Verdill led the way with twenty points, while also pulling down 7 rebounds and recording five steals. Hunter Craddock had a double-double with 17 points and eleven rebounds. Christian Simko had 16 points and Cal German registered 15 points and seven assists.

Dawson Smail had 9 points, Ryan Alston had 3 and Aidan Quinn had three.

Clarion led 29-16 after one, 43-31 at the half and 52-51 after three, before a 30-9 Bobcat advantage, in the fourth, set the final at 82-60.

Kyle Pry had 24 points and Quinton Scriven had sixteen for the Warriors.

Boys: Clarion – Redbank Valley

The same four players scored in double-figures in this contest, though the order was different. Cal German had 26 points, including two baskets from three-point range, while handing out six assists. Christian Simko followed with 22, including a trey.

Beau Verdill had a big all-around game registering a double-double, with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while also collecting 8 steals and handing out six assists. Hunter Craddock also recorded a double-double, with 15 points and twelve rebounds.

Ryan Alston also contributed four points.

The Cats led 19-15 after one, 44-31 at the half and 58-44 after three, in the 82-67 Bobcat win.

Bryson Bain and Marquese Garlock led the Bulldogs with 27 and twenty-six points respectively

The 8-2 Bobcats are scheduled to play at Oil City tonight, Saturday (February 6th) and at Punxsutawney on Monday (February 8th)

Girls: Clarion – Redbank Valley

Gia Babington scored six points for the Lady Cats. Jordan Best and Ava Cherico scored 5 points each, Rebekah Ketner had 4 points and Erica Selfridge scored two.

The Lady Bulldogs led 15-2 after one, 22-5 at the half and 40-13 after three.

Caylen Rearick led the Lady Bulldogs with a game-high twenty-seven points.

The Lady Cats are scheduled to host DuBois on Monday (January 8th).
