Lady Cats Down Lady Cardinals In Non-Conference Basketball Action

The homestanding Clarion Area Lady Cats downed the DuBois Central Catholic Lady Cardinals, 59-40 in non-conference basketball action on Monday (February 8th).

Three Lady Cats scored in double-figures, led by Payton Simko’s career-high nineteen points. Erica Selfridge had 13 points and Jordan Best followed with twelve. Noel Anthony just missed doubler-figures, finishing with nine.

Ava Cherico recorded 4 points and Rebekah Ketner finished with two.

Clarion held a 21-15 lead after one and with a 21-14 edge in the second period, the Cats held a thirteen-point, 42-29 lead. The third quarter saw Clarion post a 13-6 advantage, to lead by twenty, 55-35 heading to the final stanza, where a 5-4 Cardinals’ edge set the final.

The Lady Cats are scheduled to host Karns City on Thursday (February 11th).
