Lady Cats Down Moniteau In KSAC Basketball Action

The homestanding Clarion Area Lady Cats downed the Moniteau Lady Warriors 43-42, in KSAC Basketball action on Tuesday (February 2nd), on a buzzer beater by Payton Simko. Simko’s shot came on a feed from Erica Selfridge.

Jordan Best led the Lady Cats with thirteen points. Simko followed with 8, while Ava Cherico and Noel Anthony each contributed seven points. Selfridge had 6 points and Rebekah Ketner finished with two. Cherico had 2 three-point shots, with Selfridge and Anthony each collecting one trey.

Moniteau led 13-6 after one. Both teams scored 12 points in the second, giving the Warriors a 25-18 halftime lead. Clarion had a 9-7 edge in the third, leaving Moniteau up 32-27 going to the fourth, where a 16-10 advantage by the Lady Cats set the final.

Aslyn Pry and Catherine Kelly led Moniteau with 16 and nine points respectively.

Clarion is scheduled to host Redbank Valley on Friday (February 5th).
