Basketball – Saturday, February 27th: Bobcat Boys Down Fires, Lady Cats Fall To Lady Chucks

The Clarion Area Boys and Girls Basketball Teams each had games on Saturday, with the Bobcat Boys coming away with an 83-34 win over the Forest Area Fires, at Marienville and the Lady Cats falling to the visiting Punxsutawney Lady Chucks, 49-29.

Boys’ Game

The Bobcats had three players score in double-figures, Christian Simko with 18 points, Cal German with 17 and Ethan Burford with ten.

Beau Verdill and Hunter Craddock scored nine points each. Gabe Simko had 8 points, Ryan Alston scored 5 points, Dawson Smail had 4 points and Aidan Quinn had three.

The Cats led 29-4 after one, 51-12 at the half and 67-20 at after three.

Camron Call and Jacob Eddy led the Fires with 12 and ten points respectively.

The Bobcats travel to Brookville, tonight, Monday, March 1st.

Girls’ Game

Punxsutawney led 18-7 at the half and 34-18 after three.

Jordan Best led the Lady Cats with eleven points. Erica Selfridge added ten.

Riley Presloid led Punxsutawney with fifteen points. Her teammate Sarah Weaver reached the 1,000 point plateau during the game.

The Lady Cats host Cranberry at 6:00 PM today.
