Bobcats And Lady Cats Fall In Season Baseball And Softball Openers At Slippery Rock

The Clarion Area Baseball and Softball Teams traveled to Slippery Rock for their season openers, on Friday (March 27th), with the Baseball Team losing to the Rockets 10-0 and the Softball Team falling 9-8 in extra innings.

Baseball

Slippery Rock’s threw a two hitter.

Dawson Smail and Cole Slaugenhoup had the Bobcats’ hits.

The Bobcats will travel to A-C Valley on Tuesday (March 30th).

Softball

The Lady Cats were down 8-6 in the top of the seventh. Kylee Beers singled home Brenna Campbell and Payton Simko scored on a fielder’s choice, with Emily Troese getting the RBI, knotting the score at 8-all.

The Rockets scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth.

Beers had a single and a triple. Troese had three singles, and Campbell and Noel Anthony both had a single and a double.

Beers and Simko shared time in the circle.

The Lady Cats will travel to A-C Valley on Tuesday (March 30th).
