Baseball/Softball: Bobcats, Lady Cats Defeat Forest Area

The Clarion Area Baseball and Softball Teams hosted Forest Area on Tuesday (April 20th), with both coming away with five inning wins. The Bobcat Baseball Team won 11-1 and the Lady Cats Softball Team won 13-3.

Baseball: Clarion 11 – Forest Area 1

Forest Area opened the game with a run in the top of the first, but the Bobcats answered with a run in the bottom of the inning. Clarion would hold the Fires scoreless the rest of the way, while scoring six runs in the third inning and four more in the fifth inning, to register the 11-1 win.

Dauntae Girvan had a double, with run batted in and a run scored. Dawson Smail scored three runs. Cole Slaugenhoup had a pair of hits, while picking up the win with a two-hitter.

Brady Quinn doubled, scored a run, and drove a run in. Hunter Craddock had a single, with a run scored and an RBI. Ryan Alston scored two runs. Devon Lauer, Cameron Lapinto and Gary Matus each had a single and a run scored.

The Bobcats will travel to Moniteau on Thursday (April 22nd).

Softball: Clarion 13 – Forest Area 3

The Lady Cats scored four runs each in the second and fourth innings, while holding the Lady Fires off the scoreboard through the fourth, to take an 8-0 lead. The Fires came back with three runs in the top of the fifth, cutting their deficit to 8-3, but Clarion answered with five in the bottom of the inning, to secure the 13 -3 win.

Kylee Beers and Jordan Best each had 3 hits, including two doubles, while scoring two runs. Beers and Best drove in 4 runs and two runs respectively. Noel Anthony homered and singled, while scoring two runs. Ava Kiser had two hits.

Brenna Campbell and Payton Simko each singled, drove in a run and scored twice. Brianna Forrest had a double and drove in a pair. Emily Troese had a hit and scored two runs, and MaKenzie Aaron scored a run.

The Lady Cats will travel to Moniteau on Thursday (April 22nd).
