Bobcats And Community Lose A Fine Man, Longtime Coach And Educator Alex Arth Passes

It is a sad time for the Clarion Area Bobcats, Clarion Area School District and the entire community. Long Time Clarion Area Bobcats’ Line Coach Alex Arth passed away on Monday.

Coach Arth taught science at Clarion Area and was the line coach for the Bobcats for well over 30 years. He also coached track and baseball. Who will ever forget seeing him on the sidelines? And oh, what a special night when he got a limo ride from the field following his last game.

To know Coach Arth was to love him.

I personally loved talking to Coach on the bus, to and from Bobcat Football away games. And spending time with Coach, Mrs. Arth and Joe Beichner as we sat in the stands at various sporting events in the gym. Loved his quiet, easy going manner, not a bit of ego with Coach.

I’ll miss seeing him doing his daily walk around town, with those big radio headphones on, always wearing black and orange.

I’m sure we all have great memories of Coach.

Love you, Coach.

Clarion Sports Zone joins this entire community in mourning this loss. Condolences to Mrs. Arth and the entire Arth Family.

Well miss you, Coach.
