Track And Field: North Clarion Falls To Redbank Valley; Evelyn Lerch Breaks She-Wolves 100 Meter Record, Gabby DiDolce And Girls’1600 Relay Qualify For Districts

The North Clarion Boys’ and Girls’ Track and Field Teams fell to homestanding Redbank Valley, on Tuesday (May 5th), with the Wolves falling 83-67 and the She-Wolves dropping an 80-70 decision.

Girls’ Meet

Evelyn Lerch captured all three sprints, the 100, 200 and 400, breaking North Clarion’s school record in the 100 in the process. Evelyn’s time of 12.84 eclipsed the old record of 13.00 set by Denise Fitzgerald in 2009. In addition to her three individual wins, Lerch was a member of the victorious 1600 relay, along with Bella Scott, Trinity Thompson and Jordyn Hendrickson, which qualified for districts with a time of 4:35.09.

Thompson, Hendrickson and Scott joined Rachel Bauer on the winning 3200 relay.

Bauer had two individual wins, capturing the 1600 and 3200, with Thompson winning the 800. Also taking firsts for the She-Wolves were Abby Frederick in the 300 hurdles and Rebekah Ketner in the shot put.

North Clarion had five second place finishes: Brynn Siegel in the 1600 and 3200, Scott in the 800, Shawna Pack in the 100 hurdles and Gabby DiDolce in the discus, where she qualified for districts.

Third place finishers for the She-Wolves included: Taylor Sherbine in the 100 and 200, Pack in the 300 hurdles, DiDolce in the shot put and Emily McCaslin in the pole vault.

Boys’ Meet

Patrick Young and Dawson Hotchkiss each were double individual event winners for the Wolves, with young claiming the 400 and 800 and Hotchkiss winning the 100 and 200. Gavin Hoover won the the 3200.

Young and Hoover joined Aiden Thomas, and Kaine McFarland on the winning 3200 relay, while Hotchkiss teamed with Owen Shaffer, Seth Weckerly and Gus Troutgott on the victorious 1600 relay.

Second place finishers for North Clarion include: Allen Thomas in the 110 hurdles, McFarland in the 800 and 3200, Johnston in the 100 and 200 and Troutgott in the 400.

Gathering thirds for North Clarion were: Shaffer in the triple jump and high jump, Johnston in the long juump, Bradley in the javelin and Swanson in the pole vault.
