Track And Field: Wolves Sweep Falcons

The North Clarion Boys’ and Girls’ Track and Field Teams, swept A-C Valley in their meet at Union on Tuesday (May 11th). The Wolves’ Boys won 96-49 and the She-Wolves won 67-62.

Boys: North Clarion 96 – A-C Valley 49

Aiden Thomas and Owen Shaffer both were double-individual event winners, with Thomas winning the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles and Shaffer winning the triple jump and high jump.

Johnston also teamed with Noah Naser, Dawson Hotchkiss and Gus Trougott on the winning 400 relay. Hotchkiss and Trougott joined Owen Shaffer and Seth Weckerly on the victorious 1600 relay. The Wolves also captured the 3200 relay. The team included Thomas, Braden Custer, Gavin Hoover and Kaine McFarland.

Hoover also won the 1600, Mcfarland took the 800 and Patrick Young was victorious in the 400.

Second place finishers for the Wolves included: McFarland in the 1600, Trougott in the 400, Young in the 800, Johnston in the long jump, Naser in the shot put, Loban Swanson in the 300 hurdles and pole vault, and Kolton Bradley in the javelin.

Third place finishers for North Clarion included: Swanson in the 110 hurdles, Hotchkiss in the 100, Custer in the 1600, Weckerly in the 400, Evans in the 800 and pole vault, and Young in the javelin.

Girls’ North Clarion 67 – A-C Valley 62

The She-Wolves swept the relays, with Trinity Thompson, Bryn Siegel, Rachel Bauer and Evelyn Lerch combining on both the 1600 and 3200 teams, and Maddie Homan, Shawna Pack, Mya Wilshire and Taylor Sherbine on the 400 team.

Thompson captured two individual events, winning both the 400 and 800. Bauer won the 1600 with a district qualifying time of 5:54. Pack captured the 110 hurdles and Sherbine won the 200.

Also recording first place finishes for North Clarion were: Kayla Aaron in the 3200, Alana Brooks in the pole vault, Rebekah Ketner in the shot put and Gabby DiDolce in the discus.

Second place finishers for North Clarion included: Abby Frederick in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles, Emily McCaslin in the pole vault and javelin, Siegel in the 800, Bauer in the high jump, pack in the discus and DiDolce in the pole vault.

Third place finishers included: Aaron in the 1600, McCaslin in the high jump, Ketner in the discus and Brooks in the javelin.
