Lady Cats’ Jordan Best And Noel Anthony Named To’s Inaugural Softball All-Star Team

(Above photo courtesy of Identity Studios and Design) Noel Anthony (Back left) and Jordan Best (next to Noel) along with the rest of the 2021 Clarion Area Lady Cats Softball Team. announced their first ever District 9 Softball All-Star Team and two Clarion Area Lady Cats, Noel Anthony and Jordan Best, both juniors, have been selected.

Noel, who was chosen as the second baseman, had a very solid year. She had a .544 batting average. She delivered 15 doubles and a home run for the Lady Cats, while driving in twenty-two runs. Noel also scored 34 runs and stole eleven bases.

Jordan, who shares the spot at catcher with DuBois Central Catholic’s Mia Meholic, carried a .432 average, with 8 home runs, 9 doubles and a triple. She drove in 35 runs, scored 37 times and stole seven bases.

Others from around the Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference (KSAC) named to the 2021 Squad include: from Keystone, Natalie Bowser – a utility player, who was also named the Player of the Year, as well as Rookie of the Year and Maddie Dunlap at third base; Clarion-Limestone’s Kendall Dunn at shortstop; and Karns City’s Ashley Fox in the outfield.

Others on this year’s team include: Dubois Central Catholic’s Chelsea Busatto in the outfield and Shyanne Lundy at first base; DuBois’ Morgan Pasternak in the outfield; Clearfield’s Emma Hipps, who was named Pitcher of the Year, as a pitcher; St. Marys’ Kendall Young as a pitcher; and Elk County Catholic’s Emily Mourer who was selected for her hitting, pitching and as a designated player.

Punxsutawney’s Alan Pifer was named Manager of the Year.
