Wildcats Drop C-L Homecoming Contest To Raiders

The Central Clarion Wildcats fell to the Brookville Raiders 40-14, at Clarion-Limestone Stadium, on Friday (September 17th), in the C-L Homecoming Game.

Brookville opened the scoring with 5:44 left in the first quarter on a forty yard touchdown pass from Charlie Krug to Brayden Kunselman. The point after failed and the Raiders led 6-0.

A two yard touchdown run by Tate Lindermuth, combined with a Logan Oakes point after, had the Raiders up 13-0, at 9:54 of the second. The score moved to 19-0 Brookville, at 3:46, with Jackson Zimmerman running the ball in from 30 yards out and another Oakes kick. At the three minute mark Hunter Smith intercepted a pass and ran it in for a four yard touchdown. Oakes was successful again and the Raiders led 26-0.

Krug hit Noah Peterson with a fifty-two yard touchdown pass with 41 seconds, left in the half and with the PAT, the Raider led 33-0.

Wildcats’ quarterback Jase Ferguson hit Christian Simko with a fifty-eight yard pass with 10 seconds left in the half, followed by a touchdown hookup between the pair as time ran out. Charlie Francino’s kick was good and the halftime score was Brookville 33 – Clarion 7.

At halftim, Morgan McNaughton was crowned the Clarion-Limestone Homecoming Queen. Congratulations, Morgan!!!!

Krug hit Kunselman with a sixty-two yard touchdown and Oakes was successful again, giving the Raiders led 40-7 with 6:53 left in the third.

With 5:50 left in the game, Ferguson hit Ashton Rex with a thirty-three yard touchdown pass. Francino’s kick was good and the final score was set.

Official Maxpreps stats weren’t available at time of posting, but Rich Rhoades, in his Tri-County Weekend article, had Jase Ferguson with 11 completions on 29 passes for 160 yards, 2 touchdowns and two interceptions, Christion Simko with 6 receptions for 112 yards and Ashton Rex with 3 receptions for 37 yards.

The Wildcats are scheduled to visit St. Marys next Friday (September 24th).
