Volleyball: Bobcats Down Karns City, JVs Also Victorious
The Clarion Area Volleyball Team traveled to Karns City on Thursday (September, 30th) and came away with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-11) Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference win. The Bobcats’ Junior Varsity squad was also victorious, downing the Gremlins 2-0 (25-9, 25-17).
Noel Anthony had a big night for the Bobcats, in the Varsity contest, scoring 11 points 93 aces), dishing out a whopping 34 assists, while also recording a kill and three digs. Korrin Burns had a big match as well, with 26 kills, 5 points and four digs.
Aryana Girvan recorded 5 points (1 ace), 5 kills and four digs. Jordan Best had 5 points (3 aces) 3 assists and four digs. Adia Needham scored 5 points (1 ace) and had a two kills.
Payton Simko registered 6 kills, 4 digs and two aces. Grace Ochs scored 3 points (1 ace) and had a dig. Taylor Alston had a kill and a dig.
Ochs led the Clarion Junior Varsity with 12 points (6 aces), 9 assists and six digs. Brenna Armstrong scored 7 points (1 ace). Gia Babington scored 5 points (2 aces), and had 4 kills and a pair of assists. Alicyn Burford recorded 5 points (3 aces).
Hadley Campbell had 2 aces, 3 kills and five digs. Natalie Durish registered three digs. Sophie Babington had a pair of kills and Taylor Alston contributed an assist.
The Bobcats are scheduled to travel to A-C Valley on Tuesday (October 5th).
