Basketball Roundup: Bobcat Boys And Girls Take Third Place In Tournament Action

The Clarion Area Bobcat Boys and Girls Basketball Teams were in tournament action, on Friday and Saturday, December 10th and 11th, with both placing third.

The Bobcat Boys competed in the Keystone Tipoff Tournament and the Girls took part in the Brockway Tip-off Tournament.

Boys

The Bobcats dropped a 51-36 contest to DuBois, in their opener at Keystone. Derek Smail led the Cats with eight points.

Clarion bounced back in the consolation game, with a 59-50 win over Cochranton. Christian Simko led the Cats with 18 points. Dawson Smail added 9, Devon Lauer had 8, and Gabe Simko and Ryan Alston chipped in seven apiece.

DuBois downed Keystone for the championship.

Girls

Clarion fell to host Brockway 53-39 in the opener. Jordan Best led the Bobcats with 16 points. Payton Simko added eight.

Clarion claimed a 42-36 victory over Moniteau, in the consolation contest. Best led the Cats with 20 points. Gia Babington followed with eleven.

DuBois downed Brockway for the championship.
