Bobcat Grapplers Have Solid Outing At Redbank Duals
The Clarion Bobcat Wresters had a solid outing at the Redbank Duals on Saturday, December 18th.
The Cats went 2-3 for the tournament. They beat Ridgway and Youngsville, while dropping contests to Titusville, Kane and Curwensville.
The Cats had four pins against Ridgway: Mason Gourley (145) in 1:03, Breckin Rex (160) in 2:24, Logan Edmonds (189) in 5:40 and Logan Edmonds (215) again in 2:29. The Bobcats also received forfeit wins from Logan Powell (106), Chesney Boggess (172) and Josh Beal (285).
Clarion had three falls against Youngsville: Powell (106) in 0:22, Gourley (138) in 0:24 and Ashton Rex in 0:41. Beal (285) scored an 11-6 decision, and Breckin Rex (160) and Logan Edmonds (215) received forfeits.
Registering a pin against Titusville, for the Bobcats, was Breckin Rex (160) in 3:52. Gourley (138) registered a 4-2 decision and Logan Edmonds came away with an 11-9 win. Powell (106) got a forfeit.
Clarion registered three falls in the Kane match: Powell (106) in 2:45, Caleb Edmonds (172) in 5:15 and Logan Edmonds (215) in 0:52. Beal (285) had a forfeit win.
Against Curwensville, the Cats had two wins by fall: Ashton Rex (152) in 3:01, Caleb Edmonds (172) in 1:52. Josh Edmonds won on injury time and Gourley (138) won a 7-6 decision.
Clarion Head Coach Lee Weber had this to say, “It was a good day of wrestling for our Bobcats at the RBV Varsity Tournament. We went 2-3 for the day but were competitive in every match! Here are their overall records and results for the team:
“Even with missing wrestlers, we came close to beating better teams because most of us wrestled for all 3 periods. The kids that are here are working hard and are improving every day! We are committed to our running, lifting, MMA workouts with Coach Mikey, and of course, tough wrestling practices with a little extra conditioning races with Coach Ashby!
“You will never always be motivated, so you must learn to be disciplined.”
