Boys Basketball: Bobcats Fall To Chucks

The Clarion Bobcat Boys basketball team dropped a 46-37 non-conference game to the visiting Punxutawney Chucks on Saturday (January 8th).
The Chucks led 20-11 after one. With a 13-9 Bobcat advantage in the second, Clarion trailed by just five, 29-24, at the half. Punxy led 40-30, heading to the fourth, after they posted an 11-6 edge in the third. The Cats outscored the Chucks 7-6, in the final stanza to set the final.
Christian Simko led the Bobcats with fourteen points. Devon Lauer and Dawson Smail scored 8 and 6 points respectively.
Aidan Quin and Gabe Simko each scored 4 and Derek Smail scored one point.
Donnie Neese had 12 points and Kyle Nesbitt followed with eleven to lead Punxsutawney.
The Bobcat Junior Varsity won their contest, 57-24.
The Bobcats are scheduled to host Karns City tomorrow (Tuesday, January 11th).
