Clarion Falls To North Clarion In KSAC Girls Basketball Tilt

The visiting Clarion Area Bobcats dropped a 40-21 decision to North Clarion in a Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference girls’ basketball matchup on Tuesday (February 1st).

The Wolves jumped out to a 14-6 lead after one and with an 8-4 advantage in the second, they held a 22-10 halftime lead. The third quarter saw North Clarion with a one-point, 7-6 edge, sending the game to the final stanza with the Wolves up 29-16. North Clarion posted an 11-5 advantage in the fourth, to set the final.

Payton Simko led Clarion with seven points. Jordan Best followed with 5 points, Becca Ketner had 4, Noel Anthony scored 3 and Natalie Durish finished with two.

North Clarion was led by Emma McFarland, who had 13 points, including 3 three-pointers. Amya Green contributed nine points.

The Bobcats are scheduled to host Union on Friday (February 4th).
