Bobcat Boys Basketball Season Comes To An End In D9 Boys Class-A Fifth Place Game

The Clarion Area Boys Basketball Team saw their season end with a 52-46 loss to the homestanding Johnsonburg Rams, in the District Nine Class-A playoff game to decide the fifth team to go to the PIAA State playoffs.

The Bobcats trailed 13-10 after one and a 10-8 Rams’ edge in the second sent the teams to halftime with Johnsonburg up 23-18. A 13-8 Johnsonburg advantage in the third, had the Cats down by ten, 36-26 heading to the final stanza.

The Bobcats outscored the Rams 20-16 in the fourth, to set the final.

Christian Simko and Kammeron Merrill each scored 12 points, to lead Clarion. Gabe Simko and Devon Lauer contributed eight points apiece.

Jason Freeburg and Jake Lobaugh led the Rams with 14 and 12 respectively.

The Bobcats finished with a 15-12 record.
