Bobcats Softball Team Falls To Fires In Nine Innings

The Clarion Area Bobcats dropped a tough 6-5, nine inning game to the homestanding Forest Area Fires, on Thursday (May 12th) (in a continuation of a game started earlier in the season) in Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference softball action.

Clarion plated two runs in the top of the second and another three runs in the third for a 5-0 lead. The Fires scored two in their half of the inning and then tied the game at 5-all, with three runs in the fifth. The tie lasted through regulation and one extra inning, but a run by the Fires in the bottom of the ninth gave Forest Area the win.

Bri Forrest singled and tripled, driving in three runs for the Bobcats. Kylee Beers also had a triple. She scored twice. Noel Anthony singled and doubled. Hadley Campbell had a hit, an RBI and scored a run. Emily Troese drove in a run.

Alexis Oswald had a triple and a double, driving in three runs for the Fires, while Emily Aites doubled and had two RBIs.

The Bobcats scheduled to visit Oil City today (Friday, May 13th). Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
