Roundup: Bobcats Baseball, Softball Teams Fall To Lions

The Clarion Area Bobcats Baseball and Softball Teams were both in action against the Clarion-Limestone Lions, on Wednesday (May 11th). The Bobcat Baseball team fell to the visiting Lions 9-2, at Clarion County Park, while the homestanding Lions prevailed in the softball game 12-2 in five innings.

Baseball

The Lions held an 8-0 lead after four, scoring three each in the first and second, and single runs in the third and fourth. The Bobcats scored a run in the bottom of the fourth. C-L scored a run in the sixth and a Clarion run in the seventh set the final.

Devon Lauer had three hits for the Bobcats. Noah Harrison had one hit and an RBI. Tanner Miller singled and scored a run. Dawson Smail singled and Bryce Brinkley scored a run.

The Lions were led by Jordan Hedson’s four hits, four runs batted in and two runs scored. Bryson Huwar had a pair of hits and scored three runs. He was also the winning pitcher, going the distance and recording six strikeouts.

The Bobcats will host Oil City tomorrow (Friday, May 12th) at 4:30p.m. at Clarion County Park.

Softball

Clarion opened the scoring with a run in the top of the first, but C-L scored five runs each in the next two innings for a 10-1 lead. The Lions scored two in the bottom of the fourth and the Bobcats scored two in the fifth setting the final.

For Clarion: Noel Anthony and Kylee Beers had two hits and an RBI apiece. Jordie Best and Emily Troese both singled and scored a run. Payton Simko and Bri Forrest both doubled.

Abby Himes had a pair of singles, four RBIs and a run scored for the Lions. Kendall Dunn singled, doubled and scored twice. Regan Husted picked up the win for C-L.

The Bobcats are scheduled to play Forest Area at the West Forest Field in Tionesta at 5:00p.m. today (Thursday, May 12th).
