Liam Huwar, Ethan Rex Along With Their PA Playmakers Travel Baseball Teammates And Coaches Capture Miracle 2022 13U Championship

The PA Playmakers Travel Baseball 13U Team, from New Castle, captured the Miracle 2022 Tournament’s 13U Division Championship. The Tournament was held at Tarentum’s No Offseason Sports Facility on Friday, June 24th through Sunday, June 26th. There were thirteen teams in the 13U Division.

Liam Huwar from Clarion-Limestone and Ethan Rex from Clarion Area are members of the PA Playmakers and both had solid contributions in the tournament.

Liam, the son of Luke Huwar and Lee Holmes, went 4-for-12 at the plate, during the tournament, with four runs scored and two runs batted. He walked twice and stole four bases.

Ethan, the son of Cory and Dana Rex, finished the tournament going 6-for-11 with two doubles and a triple. He scored six runs and crossed the plate five times. Ethan walked five times and stole six bases.

The Playmakers beat Super Swing out of Northern Cambria, 9-0 in their first Pool Play game on Friday night. They beat Penn Trafford Warriors 10-2, on Saturday, in their second Pool Play game.

They downed Super Swing again, in their first Playoff game on Sunday by an 8-7 score. The Playmakers downed Steel City Select Navy out of Pittsburgh, 8-0, in the Semifinals. They followed that by defeating Wheeling Force from Wheeling West Virginia, 3-0 in the Championship Game.
