The Central Clarion Wildcats Football Team is set to open their 2022 campaign this Friday (August 26th) as they host Brookville at the Clarion-Limestone Field at 7:00 PM. A special Tribute to longtime Clarion-Limestone (and Clarion Area) Coach Jim Williamson will precede the game.

Coach Davey Eggleton provided information for the Season Preview. The Team Roster and Varsity, Junior Varsity and Junior High Rosters are included after the preview.

Key players who graduated are Cole Wrhen (All-Conference Lineman), Christian Simko (All-Conference Receiver), Breckin Rex (Leading Rusher)

Key returning players are: Jase Ferguson at quarterback who completed 107 passes in 194 attempts for 1620 yards, with 18 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, in 2021. Jase was Honorable Mention All-Conference.; Ryan Hummell at fullback and inside linebacker. He had 351 yards on 67 carries with 4 touchdowns last season. He had 21 catches for 144 yards and one touchdown. Ryan was the Wildcats’ leading tackler with 145 total tackles and was named All-Conference linebacker.; Ashton Rex at defensive back and wide receiver. Ashton had 47 tackles and an interception in 2021 to be named All-Conference at cornerback. On offense, he had 21 receptions for 445 yards and 12 carries for 66 yards.; and Brady Quinn at outside linebacker, where he had 62 tackles (4.5 tackles for loss), 3 interceptions and 5 pass defenses last season.

Expectations for the team

We will take one week at a time, but as always we want to be in the hunt for the district title at the end of the season.

We have a phenomenal group of guys this year. They are selfless and hard working. I am excited to see how this team continues to come together and grows each week. We have a lot of guys returning with varsity experience and expect that to be very beneficial.
