Clarion-Limestone Holds 1st Annual Fall Sports Kickoff Bonfire

A huge crowd, of approximately 1,500 to 2,000 folks, was on hand Friday, August 19th as the Clarion-Limestone Adult Booster Club held their 1st Annual Fall Kickoff Bonfire at the Clarion-Limestone Football Field.

There were various exciting events/fundraisers going on prior to and during the festivities including Face Painting, Basket Raffles, 50/50, New Spirit Wear and Brick Oven Pizza. Each of the teams had earlier decorated pallets, which were judged by folks in attendance.

Emcees Brad Frazier and Gus Simpson did a fine job in keeping things flowing smoothly and keeping everyone engaged as the players, cheerleaders, band members and their coaches were recognized.

The Lion Mascot and Clarion-Limestone Band led the groups onto the field where they formed a “Spirit Line.”

Then the Band, under the Direction of Jennifer Hubler, performed the National Anthem.

As they were introduced, the individual teams went through the “Spirit Line” and gathered at around midfield, where they posed for pictures with their pallet.

Next was the Clarion Area Girls Soccer Team, which is a co-op between CA and C-L, coached by Chris Schonbachler. They were followed by their counterparts, the Clarion-Limestone Boys Soccer Team, also a co-op between C-L and CA, coached by Don Montgomery.

Mr. Frazier then thanked the players and their families and Booster Clubs, as well as the three local Volunteer Fire Companies, Strattanville, Corsica and Millcreek, that worked to ensure safety and conduct the lighting of the bonfire.

Mr. Frazier then directed everyone over to the parking lot on the east endzone side where the night was concluded with the huge Bonfire.
